In the context of the global refining industry, over recent years Europe has been challenged by major global changes from the USA, Latin America and Asia. As a consequence, the region has been under pressure to minimise losses and improve efficiency in order to remain competitive in this ever increasing global market.
More recently these efforts to remain agile, innovate and drive results from what some argue are more favorable external conditions for European refiners have certainly paid off.
Similarly looking to petrochemicals, ongoing increases in global competitiveness, driven by recent developments in North American Ethylene production, “on-purpose” technologies such as CTO technology in China, oil price volatility and unsteady feedstock supply and demand dynamics, have meant that Europe’s petrochemical producers must strive to find ways to maintain and increase their competitive advantage.
For over eighteen years the World Refining Association has hosted dedicated events in Europe providing the ideal platform to discuss the latest market developments, partnership opportunities, strategies and innovative technologies which are shaping the refining and petrochemical industries and complexes of the future.
For Europe the challenges are big, but the opportunities are also plentiful.
The World Refining Association events and reports in Europe are used by the industry as a key tool in understanding where to look to find value in the chain, and to take advantage of this shifting oil and gas reality.
Our downstream events and exhibitions are all supported by and have large representation from IOCs, NOCs, and Regulators giving you a critical opportunity to stay close to resource holders.
IOCs, NOCs and Regulators we work with in Europe include:
- Fuels Europe
- Petrochemicals Europe
- Grupa Lotos
