2005 Middle East Refinery/Plant of the Year Award
The
World Refining Association are delighted to announce their inaugural
2005 Refinery/Plant of the Year Award went to KNPC’s Mina
Abdulla Refinery.
Attendees
of the 6th Annual Conference were invited to nominate a refinery/plant
within the sector, who had contributed to a major industry achievement
through plant upgrade and refurbishment or through the installation
of new innovative technologies achieving operational excellence.
The
Mina Abdulla Refinery won the Award for:

Increasing the capacity of their sulphur recovery unit.

Introducing a profit improvement programme, resulting in improved
product yields, energy optimisation and profitability.
- Upgrading
the plant by revamping atmospheric residue desulphurisation units
using onstream catalyst replacement technology.
